SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 03/07 3/7/25 We have light snow falling in the Soo. We’ll take all that we can get to cover up the icy base from the rain event the other day. We’ve had groomers out everywhere except trail 49 from the Soo to Kinross, 49 south of M80, and 494 also in kinross. The snow is just too thin down that way, and we’ll do more harm than good until we get more snow. It’s also pretty icy after all of the rain. Also a heads up- there was a timber sale and there will be logging on 49 near Wilson Rd south of M80 in Kinross. They usually leave a base for snowmobilers, but please use caution.
