CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort >> 02/17
Brrrr!!
Trail conditions- Very Good
Snow last 48 hrs – 6-8”
Base – 2-5”
Hello- Very cold temps in low single digits tonight , but it keeps snowing and blowing .. Between grooming and plowing , I seem to be in one machine or the other quite often .. Trying to get a little sled time in as well.
Very busy Presidents weekend ends today .. Trails got a little beat up over the weekend , with HEAVY traffic and also groomer difficulties. We had one of our groomers get stuck badly , and our “loaner “ tractor out of Boon broke down.. But as always , our volunteers got together and pulled out the stuck unit and brought our club owned groomer out of retirement to fill the void. Special thanks to all those guys who spent many hours dealing with these issues.
From all of our local businesses , Thank You to the many sledders who came to the Cadillac area to share their hard earned money with many of us. Traffic on Saturday was reminiscent of 10-20 yrs ago , when snows like this season were a little more frequent. People seemed so happy to have this amazing snow to play in. Seeing many people getting stuck off- trail when moving for groomers , so be wise . Also , way too many vehicles are following GPS and ending up in middle of trails system and halting groomers.. Spread the word to these “flatlanders” to not go on roads if they see orange trail markers..

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Here is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025. Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise. Not too impactful of a system in terms of Michigander standards, but do take it slow if you encounter any snow squalls and/or visibly slick roads. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskeyHere is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025.

CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort >> Trail Conditions: Poor - Fair; Base: 1-2"; New Snow last 24 Hrs: 1-2" Rough weather earlier this week brought some rain, but the trails survived! Icy base stayed intact and there's still good coverage. The 1-2" of fresh snow on top gave some for lubrication, but still tough to keep your sled cool. Another 4-6" of snow is needed to get trails back in good shape. #cadillac... See MoreSee Less
