We groomed 6 East & West and the Spurs around Caberfae. I would say that trails are as good as I’ve seen in 4-5 yrs .. It’s nice to have a traditional snowfall to work with! It’s gonna be a busy, holiday weekend. The volunteers from Winter Promotions will be working hard for you, but don’t be surprised to encounter some bumpy areas, with fresh snow coming and the high trail pressure . Make sure to support the local businesses and please be patient , as we are all fighting to keep up and serve these large crowds. Come out and say hi.. We will have bonfire going outside in Corral on Saturday during midday hours. We are now opening the Coyote restaurant by noon on Wednesdays, during sled season, but sorry, still closed on Tuesdays. Lots of great comments from last weekends riders and even Bobby, aka “Hot Wheels” made it back out to the Northwoods without incident.. Also , my rib injury is much improved and I’m back on a sled and in the tractor again .. Thanks to many who were asking .. Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise. Rough weather earlier this week brought some rain, but the trails survived! Icy base stayed intact and there's still good coverage. The 1-2" of fresh snow on top gave some for lubrication, but still tough to keep your sled cool. Another 4-6" of snow is needed to get trails back in good shape. #cadillac
