Gaylord Bureau – February 3, 2025 11:00 AM Snow is piling up in Gaylord, and the trails have been upgraded to good condition! Groomers are out keeping things smooth, and the fresh snow is making for exciting riding conditions. Have fun out there! As always, please be aware of your surroundings and ride safely. We have had about 5 great thick real snow overnight and I wish the heck I was out riding in it. Hardly any sleds around. Went up to Gaylord this morning and hit all 3 places up there, Mega, Extreme and the Sled Shed looking around and had to get a few odds and ends. Snow even looked better up that way. Just had 3 guys in here that were based out of Howell and their pic is below. They rode from Lewiston to Gaylord and down to here and taking the trump trail #47 to Lovells. Its been a long time since I could say this but you couldn’t ask for better conditions. Thanks for checking in. The warmth will help melt and leave some lube for those that are adventureous enough to get a ride in. My sled is buried in the corner right now but I know I could get a good ride in if I was a bit more ambitious. Ground or should I say ice is still rock hard and it is now 33 degrees. I would think that once things start melting that if you were here you could still get in a ride. Trail crossings I looked at on the way up here are still pretty white. I looked at the sledview.com camera and it looks bright white with still no snirt and 12 inches showing on his depth guage. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Well its up to 25 degrees and while its still nice and white out there its rock hard and like riding on broken concrete. I bet I had about a dozen riders ask for ice scratchers yesterday. Riders also told me they saw several sleds pulled off and trying to cool things down. I have seen a few sleds out already this morning. Riding would get better if the sun melts a little on top so people have lube. So northern michigan is pretty much a big rough skating rink right now. For some reason the groomer tracker in that machine isn’t working <> <>
– Please move off the trail when groomers are approaching and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night, so stay alert.
– Always ride on the right side of the trail.

Equipment - We’ve got parts engineered and are on the way for the JD out of Alba. They worked on it today, hopefully next couple days we can get that back on line.
Weather - Don’t look now but the rest of the season doesn’t look good. We’ll adjust grooming for the temperatures and conditions. Mid 40s and 50s don’t make it an easy job
