SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 01/11
1/11/25 8 pm update Holy wah! I have never seen so many sleds on our trails as I did today. Passed the Raco crew on my way back to the Soo, and I’ll be out shortly with groomer Jay.
We’ll whip them into shape as best we can! Hope you had a great day on the trails! ❄️❄️❄️

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 01/11
1/11/25 Good morning! Nearly every trail in our area is now open and groomed! The only small remaining trail that Jay and I will open tonight is 497 by the high school in the Soo.
Snow is definitely getting thin, but the trails all still have decent coverage in most areas.
Huge thanks to Pete and Jay for their marathon run last night. They opened 449 and the Kewadin trail which was very slow and meticulous work. They had to move a ton of snow to fill in low spots and water holes, and level off piles where the utility company plowed. Still some wet spots in there but totally passable now. Just stay on the trail as there still hazards under the snow off of the trail.
After that, they also groomed trail 8 from the Soo to Brimley and back. It was an 11 hour day, after they each worked their day jobs too!
Here are some pics from last night. Hope you all enjoy our efforts!

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 2/6/25 Good morning! A couple of photos from Warren today! The Pisten Bully is back in action in the Raco and Bay Mills areas after coming in to thaw out and get some routine maintenance done Tuesday night. Warren said trails are the best he’s seen them all season. I’m hearing much of the same from our operators in other areas. Dave groomed the city trails last night and saw only 5 sleds, so it should have set up nicely. Snowing currently, with a few more inches expected. We truly are having our best winter in many years here, and it just keeps getting better! Get out and enjoy! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
