It looks like the temps are holding below freezing until Sunday.
Our usual nightmare trail is trail 8 between BearTrap and Shingleton.
Last groomer run in there was Wednesday night. It was terrible. The front tracks dive to the bottom and fill with mud that then has to be cleaned out. Our hope is this stretch of cold locks it up for us so we can get to a normal schedule. We know it sucks. We are doing the best with what we have to work with. We hope to get back in there before Sundays higher temps.
The rest of the trail system is in really great shape.
We have not groomed – panned in going out to Marquette yet but the trail is seeing light traffic and no signs of moguls. We are working on some issues with John Deere on the tractor we inherited (6155R). we have all of the broken mechanical parts replaced and are facing electrical issues. A technician will be up here at the beginning of next week.
Enjoy the early season riding!
If you see a groomer coming, please get off of the trail and let it pass. Hours last night were spent for stuck snowmobiles trying to go around the groomer in the deep snow. It seems most need flat level surface to ride. The more time the groomer spends waiting for you is time it is not grooming….
