Straits Area Trail Report – 12/11
STRAITS AREA UPDATE via Straits Area Snowmobile Club – 12/11 Wednesday December 11th With the roll coaster of weather in the last week, we are now freezing back up and going out to groom what we can this evening. Today we have been doing some trail maintence and training. St ignace area is very thin and wet while trout lake area is ridable. Continue to expect early season conditions in our area for the next few days at least. We look to be missing the lake affect snow. We are out doing everything we can with the snow we have. As soon as conditions change we will be sure to update our trails reports. Thank you. Light snow will accompany the front but generally less than an inch is expected. Behind the front temperatures will fall into the single digits above and below zero. This combined with gusty winds will bring wind chills down into the teens and twenties below zero. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for Gogebic and Iron counties tonight through Saturday morning. Lake effect snow will develop behind the front in the northwest wind snowbelts with several inches expected.
