Snow, baby, snow! We’re having an epic start to snowmobile season and the Gaylord area currently has over 40 inches, with more in the forecast!
The groomers have been running since trails opened on December 1st. All trails are open and in good shape. Please remember that even with the fresh snow we received, we are still building up our base. Groomers will keep running as we receive more snow.
A few things to remember about groomers:
– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way. – Please move off the trail when groomers are coming and allow them to safely pass. – If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass. – Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night. – Have fun and stay safe!

Its been a quiet and calm friday morning in snowy downtown Fredericanville. No new snow and no plowing for me overnight. Just a little touch up here and there. A few sleds in so far this morning and I expect there will be a good amount in this morning. Took my first drive thru the motel parking lots in Grayling and not to busy with a total of 13 trailers between Days Inn and Ramada. I cant say I am thrilled with the weather reports for the next couple days but we are surely off to a agreat start so far. Parking is an issue, I am full down at storage and people are parking in my back lot. If you want to park daily back there come inside and see me. Pic below is from this mornings first group of sleds. I also forgot to mention yesterdfay that on my return trip from the bridge the other night and south of Waters the Gaylord Groomer was deep off the trail in the ditch. I am sure that was a big project to get that out. Thanks for checking in and Please ride Safely. Pete

WEATHER UPDATE via Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> Timing post!! Most of us got that quick burst of 1-2" (locally 3") earlier, and we're already onto the next system - later today!! Fast! Notice we'll have a distinct rain/ snow line to the south. Models have all come together nicely. That's a great thing because it lines up with my forecast quite nice. My snow map was posted earlier! Scroll my page! Some areas are looking at up to 6"of snow. Rain falling into cold snow pack roads will cause some very slick conditions. Dirt roads, I'm talking to you! You know this already, though haha. Most treated roads to the south will be ok, though. Anywhere all snow all the time (north of I-96) will be very slow going! Want a home with a fireplace and big windows to watch the snow!? WEATHER UPDATE via Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> Snow time!! This is late Tuesday thru Wednesday AM only. Repeat that. 😅 About 1-2 inches could fall Tuesday AM before this second system moves in. There will be some rain mixed in to the south. Please note that'll make back dirt roads quite slick for those folks. Temperatures stay in the 20s further north, so it'll be a lighter, fluffy snow. Roads Wednesday AM won't be fun. This is followed by cold and some lake effect! More slick roads possible with that. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traverscity#petoskeySnow time!!
