FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 02/23 It sure doesn’t look like Feb 23. The ground froze up again overnight but now its just rock hard frozen mud. Snow piles continue to melt down and I would guess the side bys will be out and about this weekend. It seems so strange not having any snow out there. On the bright side I have had a couple of good trips when I am usually here in Sledheads, I think I might have to go on another one just to keep myself entertained. I did wake up this morning thinking about the mountain man hill climb in Valdez Alaska, that happens in the middle of April and it is a great event to attend and watch. Even the snow in the black hills is light this season as thats another place that I like to ride. If you come by and my truck is here stop in and make sure I am awake. Thanks for checking in. Thankfully I had not heard of any snowmobile deaths this season until yesterday where someone went thru the ice up in the u.p. STAY OFF LAKES I have never seen a winter with ice the way it has been. That makes 4 this season, the first 2 were just walking on the ice and went thru and these next 2 were riding. Please be aware of where you are at. We had about 2 inches of new fluffy overnight again. Riders that were in yesterday were having a good time and the snow is holding pretty good. Lets see how this week goes.
