ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via NORTH COUNTRY SNOWMOBILE CLUB – 01/18 Northern Ontonagon County has seen near constant snow since two nights ago. It needed it! South Boundary Rd trail 11, Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park – the Porkies Lake of the Clouds trail 1, trail 137, 101, 13, and 12 from 101 to trail 1 was groomed last night! Trails range from poor to good with early season hazards still existing. Shout out to Randy L. and President Mike Olsen for burning the night down into day to get this done. You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! There are logging operations happening about two miles west of Kenton, use caution.
We are grooming our regular schedule, every day.
The trails are great.
Please ride on the RIGHT side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs!
Stay on the trail, if you don’t we could lose trail permissions on private property.
Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass!
We have Groomer Tracker installed in our groomers.
We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allow. Unforeseen circumstances may prevent us from going out, like a major blizzard and being snowed in at our homes or equipment breakdowns. #westernup

Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
