PETOSKEY AREA UPDATE via Petoskey Snowmobile Club – 3/30
Thanks to all for another great snowmobile season. Wanted to reach out and let everyone know that the season is officially over Friday night at midnight for Petoskey Snowmobile Club’s grooming and trail maintenance. The grooming extension for the state of MI clubs through the weekend won’t apply due to several private trail segments expiring 3/31/23. There is an organized SxS/ATV ride Saturday and we want to Thank them for reaching out and offering to honor our extension and helping us put this on the radar. If you can attend their ride, or been itching to get out and ride, get out there and do it. Have a great season, be safe, and please always be courteous to our private land holders and people in general. Without them, these sports don’t exist. See you all soon–it’ll be back before we all know it!
HARBOR SPRINGS UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> 2025 Ice Storm Damage. The destruction to our trail system is overwhelming, and it will take an army to clean it up. Whether you ride these trails on a snowmobile, side by side, four-wheeler, drive them in your truck, hunt these woods, walk, or bike them, we will need your help. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Additional icing across the area appears less likely today with only a glaze of ice possible for some areas. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency? Are there any numbers showing ice accumulation for Antrim as compared to surrounding areas?
