NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Pine Stump – 3/12 Getting ready for the vintage show next week!! <> NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA – 3/12 March 12, 2023 12:00 am We groomed north holland lake and back, and to cut river last night. We plan to groom to holland lake again tonight but nothing else unless we get more snow. We have 2 groomers that are able to be used. All the trails are wet and getting thin with the warm weather, but are still in fair condition, trail 45 has mud again where the logging has been going. It is currently 25 degrees and lightly snowing. Remember when you are on the side of any road always ride on the right side! In other news we are raffling off a a 2023 Polaris Sportsman 450 Donated by Renze Power Sports. Tickets: $100.00 each Drawing held April 22, 2023 @ 7:00pm at the Elks Lodge in Newberry 300 tickets printed Tickets can be purchased from: Renze Power Sports, Halfway Lake Cottages, North Store Follow Me Outfitters, Pine Stump Restaurant, Schubach Farms Cabin Rentals, or Rich Rottier 616-550-8201. Proceeds will go to fund trail grooming equipment! Good Luck! Curfew in the Village of Newberry is 11:00pm to 7:00am. Trail 9: Groomed to Holland lake and back. Reported as fair. Logging be operations are finished and county roads 415 and 422 are now being groomed but snow is still a bit thin. Trail 498: Groomed last night. Good. Trail 45: Not Groomed due to lack of snow. poor condition. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and could be bumpy or rutted. Very Good in spots Trial 9/2: Groomed last night. Conditions being reported as poor. 10 degrees this morning and cloudy. Mother Nature FINALLY blessed us with a good dumping of snow! We have picked up a solid foot or more in the last 36 hrs. and its been COLD.
Following up from my last report......the tech did finally make it out and went through our computer problems on all 3 machines. 2 of them are up and runnin good now and we just got the parts we need for the third one and that will be good to go today. Now, on to whats been happinin with the trails......
Yesterday we took 2 machines with 4 guys but no drags and headed south on trail #8. We skipped the swamp just south of town and started at the river mouth. We ran across just some minor water holes at the south end of the power line and a touch more severe in the Federal Forest section. We kept the gates closed in the Federal Forest section to give that a chance to tighten up.
Tomorrow we are gonna send the same set up around the Point Trails #452 & #453. The other machine will hit the Pine Stump trail #8 doing a full groom. After we see how all that goes we will hit the Falls trail #45 hopefully by the end of the week. I`m sure ya`ll have seen we have a slight warm up coming this Tues. for a couple days so that will dictate what we do on the Falls trail and the Swamp south of town.
