Harbor Springs Trail Report – 01/11

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 01/11

We haven’t posted an update in awhile but that is because we haven’t received any snow since before the new year. There is a little snow still in the woods but any open areas are grass.
Looking at the forecast we are in for some rain next week Monday & Tuesday but then snow Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday. Really hoping the temperatures drop and turn that rain into snow.
With that being said the 58th Annual Moose Jaw Safari is next Saturday, January 21st. If there is no snow to ride we will all meet at the bean pot in Larks Lake, we will keep you updated as we get closer.
Start doing that snow dance ❄️

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Dangerous wind chills will be widespread today, especially this morning. Wind chills in the 20s below zero; some areas could feel as cold as -30F. This will be dangerous, as frostbite can develop in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin. Limit time outdoors and dress in layers. Keep a winter weather survival kit in your vehicle in case you get stranded.
Gusty northwest winds plus continued powdery lake effect snow will lead to significant reductions in visibility with whiteouts at times through this afternoon, especially in open areas where snow can easily blow around. Dangerous travel conditions are expected, and wind chills well below zero will be even more problematic if you end up stranded on the road. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyDangerous wind chills will be widespread today, especially this morning. Harbor Springs Trail Report – 12/27

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 12/27

TRAIL UPDATE
We had all three groomers out last night, everything has been groomed & is in good shape. We have a great snow base in most areas but only about 4” up towards Mackinaw.
It’s hard to say how things will hold up going into this warmer weather with highs in the 40’s Thursday & Friday with a chance of rain. So get out and ride while you can.
