WATERSMEET / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club – 02/05
We have had no new snow since our last post with above freezing temperatures. Our trails are unridable. We will need a major snow storm to be able to groom again. I know many people have trips planned for our area but we just don’t have the snow. We really hope snow comes again! If you want to still come up and patronize the local businesses it would be appreciated. Think snow!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Expect mostly clear skies across much of the UP tonight, with cold temperatures giving way to another day of highs in the 20s to near 30 degrees on Sunday. A little groomer meeting!
Had Mike and Mac out yesterday, but Wyatt and Jay really hit it!
All trais in our system were groomed last night except Trail 11.

Trail #13 from Rockland to Trail #101.
Trail #101 to 12.

All were reported in very good to excellent condition.

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Hamilton's North Coast Adventures >> Riding across the Ontonagon River bridge on trail 12 is a sight to behold! You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
