WATERSMEET – WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> 12/03
UPDATED 12/3/25- Well we had 4 different crews out today all with mini excavators or tractor loaders clearing and as you can see from the pictures it is truly a disaster. Crews were only able to make it maybe 3 to 5 miles each so we still have a long way to go. We will be renting another mini excavator so will have a 5th crew out tomorrow.
We will continue to update our progress daily. If you are available Saturday December 6 9:00 am meet at our barn next to Headwaters Polaris . You will need your own snowmobile to help us clean up the small stuff the big equipment missed.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> High pressure will bring drier, sunnier weather back to the U.P. this weekend as temperatures finally return closer to normal with daytime highs in the 20s. ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Hamilton's North Coast Adventures >> Riding across the Ontonagon River bridge on trail 12 is a sight to behold! You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! What's your favorite stop for food in Ontonagon? #ontonagon #westernup #snowphotos

Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
Trail's covered last night/this morning. 102, 8w, 8e and 13s. Trail's are in good to great shape! Get out and Enjoy...

Groomer Gary is out grooming the west run which is trail 2 and 13s. Groomer Jeff is grooming trail 3 Land o Lakes to Bonds Falls and trail 2 east.
