Its a beautiful white winter wonderland here. Pine trees are heavy with the snow. Many branches down because it has been such a heavy snow. Which is great for building a base for the trail. We were without power for a few hours late afternoon. I’m sure due to a powerline coming down.
It continues to snow although it is not as intense as it was earlier today. Weathermen are saying it will continue thru tomorrow giving us 12 inches of snow. We are hoping for that and more!
Lake effect will start in after this storm moves on out. Its looking good.
We are not renting snowmobiles this year. We would love to have you come and stay with us at Rays Retreat. We offer direct access to the trail, a hot breakfast to start your day and you can park your sled outside your door. We hope to hear from you. 989-732-2703 or 989-732-4914.
We’ll let you know when grooming starts.

As of 4 p.m. today, we had 5 inches on the ground and it was slushy and packy in areas. It’s 34 degrees and has been raining off and on for the last couple of hours. Temps are expected to fall this evening and remain below freezing for the weekend and into next week.
Additional accumulation is expected tonight and into tomorrow. High winds are expected along with the snow making driving extremely dangerous so if you are planning on coming north, please take your time and drive carefully.
Snow Accumulation: None
Trails are in great shape. Our crews worked hard on them throughout the summer. Lots of the old signs were removed and some new signs put up. REMEMBER there are fewer signs in the woods this winter so when you finally do get a chance to ride, take your time and enjoy the ride. The need for speed may be costly to you and to others. Assume every trail is a winding trail and be ready for the next curve.
A reminder to those who enjoy riding the White Pine Trail, State Park officials have asked snowmobilers to ‘refrain from operating snowmobiles when less than four inches of snow cover the trail.’
