Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 12/24

It’s beginning to look a lot like winter….with snow showers in the forcast for the next few days and temps in the teens. This will help firm things up.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority are out. Trail 2 from Ironwood to Marenisco is groomed with some icy and wet spots so use caution. They are planning on getting out and grooming trail 8 and 160 in the next few days. Please be patient.
The Lake Gogebic groomers are out and reporting all trails are rolled expect some wet spots and early riding conditions.
The Watersmeet groomers have not gone out yet they need more snow.
All areas need more snow….keep in mind groomers can be out day or night so watch out for them and please pull over or slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by.

Be safe!!! We’ll keep you updated.

Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 12/24

Christmas Eve morning is here. Our lives are filled with so many blessings, and we are especially thankful for this year’s snow cover Northern Michigan landscape for this holiday week.

Groomers are doing a great job keeping the trails in good condition. We have seen them go by here several times in the last two days. Riders are returning with reports of good trail conditions.

We have not had a chance to get out and ride ourselves so until we do I am just reporting good conditions. I am sure there are some areas that exceed the good rating and areas where it may not be quite good. Overall though, from everyone we have talked to – and we have had a full motel the past two days – they are all satisfied with the conditions.

Enjoy the holiday with your family and loved ones. That’s exactly what we are planning to do. Merry Christmas to one and all!
