Cadillac Area Trail Report – 01/17

We picked up a little more snow yesterday and forecasters tell us there is more on the way but no great amounts. We’re happy to have the colder temperatures so we can keep what we do get. Sadly, the trails aren’t ready for any action.

Snow accumulation: 2.5 inches

REMEMBER there are fewer signs in the woods this winter so when you finally do get a chance to ride, take your time and enjoy the ride. The need for speed may be costly to you and to others. Assume every trail is a winding trail and be ready for the next curve.

A reminder to those who enjoy riding the White Pine Trail, State Park officials have asked snowmobilers to ‘refrain from operating snowmobiles when less than four inches of snow cover the trail.’

Lake Gogebic Trail Report – Walley Lodge – 01/17

It is snowing outside – and enough for us to have to actually plow! We received about 1-2″ last night and approx 2″ is expected today. We know we need more than that and according to NOAA and John Dee, we are looking to get 14″ by Saturday. It’s looking promising…..but seeing is believing.

If you have an inkling that you may want to come up – then i’d go ahead and make a reservation. We are being gracious in extending cancellations at this time. Will update you later as to how much snow we actually receive. Check out our web cam for a view of the lake!
