We had a bit warmer weather recently but nothing major. Trails held up perfectly fine and groomers and riders are both reporting very good to excellent trails. Some minor rough spots but nothing big.
Weather forecast shows more light snow on the way with additional cold weather so the trails will only get better and better.
Groomers are getting out regularly and keeping the trails in tip top shape.
Busy weekend this weekend around the area. If you are in town check out the UP 200 sled dog race or the XC ski race at Al quall.

It is snowing now. I spoke with guests who rode from Brimley 2/13 and they say they are surprised at how good the trails are after the warm weather. Other guests rode to/from Grand Marais on trail #’s 431, 443, 8 and 9 in that order. They said 8 had some rough spots but overall everything was good and trail 9 was great. They left early in the morning before the sun warmed things up a bit- so trail conditions may have changed on the portions they rode early. There are some icy corners to watch out for but overall everyone says the groomers have done a nice job. We have an excellent base and the new powder we anticipate should freshen things back into the “excellent” category.
Please ride safe. We are receiving multiple complaints of a hole on trail #45- about 15 miles North of Nby near Skyline Rd- on the plowed portion of trail. There are stop signs posted and it will be filled soon.
We are located 12 mi NW of Newberry and 7 miles S of Pinestump Junction. Between Grand Marais and Paradise.
