SENEY AREA UPDATE via Seney Snowmobile Association​ – 12/6

Another good day in Seney. We got our new Pisten Bully all set up. Tim and I groomed south on trail 43 to 10 curves Rd tonight to try it out and that works great. Groomer Matt groomed 431 north with the help from Dave Hausbeck cutting trees. We have all of our trail system opened up and groomed to ride. Thanks to all that put in a long week to get the trees cut.

Good news, we got trail 440 open and groomed last night. We also groomed trail 43 from Seney to the Bear Trap yesterday. Please watch out for the water spots. We will be working on trail 431 today.

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE – via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 12/5

John Dee has released an updated forecast and it includes favorable conditions for heavy amounts of Lake Effect Snow also!

Additional snowfall ❄️ and 🥶 cold temperatures will definitely help the conditions of the trails. It is still considered early season riding conditions with the possibility of bare spots, exposed rocks, wet areas and downed trees – so please ride with extreme caution.

Please note that:

🚫Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden and the 🚫Freda Trail (south of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge) will be closed the entire season due to the extensive damage from the major Fathers Day Floods. http://www.keweenawreport.com/…/fathers-day-flood-annivers…/

🚫Trail 133 is closed until a reroute can be found….. I have not heard any estimates regarding a time frame for this…..

🚫Trail 134 and 135 are also temporarily closed due to logging …… it is possible they will be open around December 21st….

While this may sound like a lot of closures there are still miles and miles of beautiful trails open in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula!
