Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/13

February 13, 2020

Minus 3 degrees this morning with a pretty stiff wind outa the NE which gives us minus 30 on our wind chill gauge….brrrrrr. No new snow with this cold last night but we did pick up 2-3 inches on Tuesday.

I`m gonna start the trail report with the best news we can have, other than maybe a foot of snow. Our 3rd machine is back up and running!!!!!!! We took her for a 2 hr. test run last night and it ran great. Groomer Kevin is gonna take her out today on the Point trails….YEA!!!!!!!! A HUGE thank you to mechanic Dustin from Grand Equipment outa GR, GREAT JOB!!!!!! Now, the rest of the story……..

I ran the South trail #8 yesterday and will rate it as good. The swamp south of town is just fair. If only we could get some snow it would go up a notch.

Groomer Zach ran the Falls trail #45 last night and it is rated as good.

Groomer Kevin is out on the Point trails right now and we will run the Stump and the Falls again today.

All trails are good and FLAT, so come on UP for the holiday weekend!!! Like I said, if only we could get a little more snow things would be perfect.

LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Groomer Chris

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/13

This is it…..( thats what Michael Jackson said) . Its what we have been waiting for. The weather man is now predicting snow for the next week. We had about 2 inches of new overnight and it was nice and cold. Its a little sunny now at 12:30 in Frederic but still only 14 degrees. Even just a couple inches a day would be great if it continues for a week. We have to wait and see how it pans out.

A few sleds in so far this morning. Riders are still saying good trails except one guy told me he tried for Lewiston yesterday and it was very rough…..Thats wierd as I did it the day before and it was fine. You just never know. I also saw someone else on my page saying how bad it was in Grayling but I totally disagree with them as everyone I have talked to has been more than happy. For the snow we do have I still think its great. Unfortuanetely we dont have the snow like Quebec & Montreal……

I have had several people ask me if anything has turned up Steves missing sled from the Porter Haus saturday night……nope nothing found so far. I actually went and looked at the parking corral there and its pretty small and tight to get into. They have limited parking there but I wouldnt want my sled in that back corner……once 20 sleds got in there it would be hard to move around……(just my opinion)……took the pic below out the front door here this morning and here are 2 more pics from saturdays sled/groomer accident. Still so lucky everyone lived……With it coming up on president weekend and people staying longer keep Safety on the top of your list of things to be aware of. Thanks for checking in. Pete
