Ironwood Trail Report – 03/12

IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 3/12

Dan man and Jerry have been after it this week! Brushing out wet areas across our system before we lose access to them as well as doing what we believe, at this time, is the final grooming run of the 2020 season (yesterday). Currently raining, trails rated poor with glimmers of good. Thank you Cloverland Motorsports for your generous support this season. It’s thanks to great sponsors like you that make our program what it is. Please be sure to support them on our behalf!! We have so many details to share about this past season, will you join us for our GRTA Spring Banquet & Annual Fundraiser/Landowner Appreciation? The raffle items are mounting already, we’re way ahead of where we normally are! #joinus #supportthesport

Paradise Area Trail Report – 03/12

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org – 3/12

March 12, 2020

35 degrees this morning and kinda foggy/misty out. The weather is all over the map so I`m not even gonna venture on a guess on whats coming. I do know all about the trails so here ya go…..

On top of the list is the trail closure we had to do. The swamp south of town opened up yesterday so we had to close the gates. We had a "local" ride thru there and he took a couple of pics. It is UGLY, do not go around the gates!!!! The rest of trail #8 south is fine though.

Groomer Mike ran the Pine Stump trail #8 and called it good. The short sections of dirt road we use are down to mud but you can get around them fine.

Groomer Zach ran the Falls trail #45 last night and called it fair. He said there are a few wet spots starting to show up but no open water holes yet.

Groomer Glenn ran the Point trails # 452 and #453 and called them good. These are high ground trails so we don`t have much of a problem with water on them but there is a couple of water holes you have to watch out for, but for now they are still froze solid.

So, there you have it. Me thinks this may be the last good weekend of riding unless something extreme happens with the weather. Keep checking back, and if it does I`ll let ya know.

I want to give a special shout out to our "local" Ed Sabo for the heads up on the swamp. Its the help from people like you that makes this all work. We can`t be everywhere all the time on the trails to keep an eye on things. THANK YOU Ed!!!!!!!!
