Let the weekend begin, only a slight skiff of new snow overnight but from the motel count this morning riders are here to ride with 7 at the Days Inn and ten at the Ramada which is pretty good for a friday monring. It was pretty slow all day thursday in here but it picked up later in the afternoon. Thats about the best I can tell you for now.
Next I just want to vent for a minute , I guess I am just getting to be a grumpy 64 year old man but the election was over in November and it was great to get rid of all the political ads but am I the only one out there that is sick of all the online casino ads? They are 4 or 5 times as annoying as the politcal ads. I imagine the tv stations love them…..o.k thats all for now.

JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> Groomers ran north and south today, unfortunately neither operator had much good to report. The extended warm up from last week has taken a drastic toll on the trails. North of Elmira the trails were really thin today. The trails south of Alba are thin but flat and rideable as of now.
The rest of this week is expected to be cold but very little to no snow with high 30’s on Saturday. The end of next week is predicted to have high 30’s with some freezing rain.

FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE >> Its a quiet monday morning. I have seen 2 sleds go by but there was no new snow overnight.
Forcast is not favorable for later this week but I am sure there will be some sleds out and about as people
just do not want to wait. Hoping it will kick in but thats the best we can do. Its still nice and white out even though we lost alot of snow.

FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> A touch of new snow overnight but not enough to get excited about. Another day of slow sled traffic on saturday. I did count about 25 sleds across the street yesterday at the peak and I see a few over there now for breakfast. Still light snow in the air. I am certainly not thrilled with the forcast this coming week and it did make it up to 36 yesterday. The sleds that are out there are making the best of what we do have. For the first time in a few years Junior and the Obama Tour stopped by so it was good to visit with them. They are hoping for more riding this season too. Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise.
