KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Snowmobile Club 2/01
We may have had a slow 🐢 start to this season but seriously couldn’t ask for better conditions now! 👏❄️ The LES guns were initiated with the deep freeze, winds and fact that Lake Superior was pretty much wide open and they seem to be stuck in the “on” position! The Keweenaw trails are in EXCELLENT condition!
⚠️ Trail 122 is open from the junction of trail 3/122 ONLY to Sawmill Rd – the entrance to the Valley Sno Drifters trail to Dreamland Restaurant & Bar – take a trip out to Dreamland on this awesome club trail!
🚫Trail 122 past Sawmill Rd towards trail 124/Gay is still temporarily closed for logging! Please do NOT attempt to ride this section of trail! You can still access Gay via trail 124 and trail 133!
🚫Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden is closed as is Trails 120/121 the Freda Loop due to the Fathers Day Flood of 2018. Trail 3 reconstruction is expected to be completed and opened back up by the start of the 2023/24 season! You can still access Lake Linden via trail 17/3 and DOLLAR bay via trail 3 out of Hancock
👏Trail 133 (previously too wet and low on snow) is now being groomed as part of the regular rotation.
The trail to High Rock Bay was groomed and the water hole filled in and closed up last weekend. It has not been groomed since as groomers wanted to make sure they wouldn’t break the hole back open so the trail has some moguls now until it is groomed again. Still 💯 worth the ride out to see the beautiful view!
✅We highly recommend downloading the Groomer Tracker app and subscribing to the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club trail system to receive up to the moment grooming information. There is a nominal $10 for this, however $5 comes directly back to the club to support grooming operations! This is a win/win for the club and riders! Help support the clubs where you ride! PLEASE ride right, ride sober and stop at ALL stop signs. The UP and Wisconsin have had too many fatalities already this season!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports >> W❄️W! What an amazing week it has been on the trails! The first half of the week was unusually quiet as far as traffic and the trails seriously couldn’t have been better! As we move into the weekend, traffic is definitely picking up but trails have still been in great shape! Huge thank you to all of the clubs and groomer operators! Ryan Bennet and Nikki McGill set out to enjoy some of the trails this morning from Krupps Resort and they weren’t disappointed! Ryan shared these photos with us and said, “Have had a GREAT day so far! Ran down 3 to 12, over to 174 down to Sidnaw. Back up 109 through the Sturgeon River Gorge, ran up to Church in the Valley Bar. Will be taking 109 back to Twin Lakes. What a great 160+ mile day!” This weekend and upcoming week’s forecast includes fresh snow and colder temps each day! Just what ever sledder ordered! Thanks for sharing Ryan! #keweenaw#snowphotos... Late yesterday the Prinoth work was completed with a test run made for 7 miles North of Shingleton on Trail 8. She’s now back in Christmas resuming normal operation after grooming all of Trail 419 last night. Overall Trails are in Good condition with new snow falling. We still have hazardous water holes on Trail 418 so ride and cross with extreme caution (Map in images showing locations). Signs now mark both locations. Keep a close eye on conditions as you ride and stay right. Stay tuned for updates!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 1/31
Todd had a good night out in the cold temps last night. Trail has set up hard with the cold temps we are finally having. With how our section of trail 8 has been the last few days, we are taking a break from grooming our trail tonight, and will be assisting S.O.R.V.A. instead, to help them get caught up. I am told they will be back to full force again today, but they do have some catching up to do. So we will help them out all we can. Looks like a nice weekend coming up, get out and ride while the conditions are good. Ride right, be safe, and have fun out there.
