Saturday!

Base 1-5

Conditions- Good

Snow last 24 hrs- 0

Hello – Another busy weekend is upon us and of course CWP is dealing with another groomer machine down. Please be aware that we are grooming multiple trail systems with just two of our units , rather than normal 3.. South and West Cadillac system tractor is down till Monday .

I will have bonfire going in the Corral today (12-4) and some warm and cold drinks as well. Live Music tonight at 9 PM, with Myron Elkins in the bar!! This young man is the Real Deal.. Come on out – it’s an “honor” cover show , so please show him a little love .. He has some new music out and I think you’ll love it.

YES , there is some warmer temps coming and we will be grooming when appropriate in evening hours and doing our best to maintain the great base we have .

THINK SNOW & RIDE RIGHT! Pete

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> In the spirit of Christmas, here's today's forecast for December 23rd, 2025 that really doesn't feel much like the holiday season. Let's discuss!
Temperatures are slow-going to rise, then suddenly as we reach the afternoon hours, temperatures snap into the mid-40's for much of the state. Many locations close to the MI/OH border may surpass 50°F. Further north, mid-30's are likely. Sunshine will be noticeable out there today, as partly cloudy skies are the main icon. Winds will increase beyond noon as well, gusting between 20-30 mph for most, with some isolated spots in northeast Michigan, and along Lake Superior gusting 30-40 mph. Winds will be out of the west, and more details on the wind will be posted next. A light round of mixed precipitation is possible overnight into Wednesday for the Sault Ste. Marie region.

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Here is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025.
Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise. Not too impactful of a system in terms of Michigander standards, but do take it slow if you encounter any snow squalls and/or visibly slick roads. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyHere is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025.

A snow squall. Maybe that’s what we had going on in Wakefield today. It was nuts!
