Cadillac / Baldwin Area Trail Report – Wolf Lake Motel and Resort – 02/11

Hi All. Sweet is all I can say. This new snow really helped things out. Groomers are running and right now the trails are in good shape. The forecast sounds good too, with some LES and colder temps for the next week or so.

Latest local grooming schedules can be found on our web site. The best part is that we are in the middle of all these grooming clubs, (which we are members of 4 clubs), so if one isn’t grooming, one of the other clubs are grooming. The next report will be 2-15-10.

We still have a couple rooms and snowmobiles available for this weekend, so call soon or be left out in the cold. Call 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm.
We are running a Bed and Sled Special. Get a modern well maintained single passenger Snowmobile from 10am until 6pm and one of our small single Motel Rooms, Sunday through Thursday for $230, helmet and tax included or get a modern well maintained two passenger Snowmobile from 10am until 6pm and one of our small single Motel Rooms, Sunday through Thursday for $260, helmet and tax included. Weather permitting.

Also stay two days and get the third free, Sunday through Thursday. No Fridays and Saturdays. You must mention at the time of the reservation and of course this special is dependent on availability and can not be combined with any other offer.

Plus we are in the middle of one of the largest ORV trail systems in the state, so if the snow isn’t that great for snowmobiling, bring your ORV up and ride over 200 miles of ORV trails. PLEASE DON’T RIDE YOUR ORV ON THE GROOMED SNOWMOBILE TRAILS. There are plenty of open trails available for ORV riding. Don’t worry winter isn’t over for snowmobiling, but a winter ORV ride can be a blast too. If you don’t have a snowmobile or yours is broken, no problem, WE HAVE ON-SITE SNOWMOBILE RENTALS right here at the Resort. There is good snow in the woods, so two tracken and seasonal roads are a blast right now. (Which there are tons of). 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm

Rooms and ON-SITE Snowmobile Rentals are available.

Newberry Trail Report – Visit Newberry – 02/11

WE NEED MORE SNOW!!

Please be careful around corners there is ice under the snow in the curves.

Trail #9 north is in good condition. The base is 8-10 inches and riders are reporting very good riding conditions, We have had more snow in this area and trails are great for riding. Be carful on the straight away between M-123 and 3 mile staging area, mogals form there quick depending on how many sleds go over it. There are some bare spots close to town. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE IS LOGGING ON THE TRAIL ABOUT 8 MILES NORTH, SO WATCH FOR LOGGING TRUCKS

Trail #45 North is in very good condition with a 8-10 inch base, but, there are 2 logging areas on it. One north, and one south, of the Skyline Trail Head. It is plowed and can be rough at times. The trail from Co. Rd. 500 to the Falls is in good shape.

Trail #9 south to Hemlock Ridge road (trail 2) has up to a 4 inch base and is in fair condition.

Trail #2 From the Naubinway split to Rexton is in fair condition with up to a 3 inch base.

Trail #473 has about 7 miles of plowed road from Rexton south to Epoufette due to logging in the area. Please watch for trucks and deer in the area. The base is marginal to 3 inches and in fair condition.

Trail #473 Rexton to Trout lake is in fair condition with up to a 3 inch base.

THE NEXT REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING IS TUESDAY FEB. 16, 2010, AT THE GOOMER BARN LOCATED AT 9017 M-123, GUESTS ARE WELCOME.
