Benzie Visitor Bureau – 02/01

Hey all! Short and sweet today this first day of February! We’ve gotten a bit of fresh snow of late and the groomers are out pretty much on schedule. It was good weekend riding last weekend and its looking like it should be another good one coming up! I did hear the trails were a bit rough south of Kaleva to Highbridge but groomers will have been out so should be looking good by now! Forecast is calling for the big storm to our south, it’ll be interesting to see what we get on the edges. One report says an inch or two, another say 3-6". Its a wait and see thing. But for now@ Its good! Gas er’ up and ride! Don’t forget, when you are in the area, stop in to the Snowbirds clubhouse in Kaleva, Saturdays 10am -4pm – Its Open House day at the Club! Swing in, warmup and visit! Please, do me a favor…to keep ALL parts of the trails open for us, STAY ON THE TRAIL! This means YOU! Its not just a given that we get every inch of trail for our fun. By the way, those groomers are out there volunteering their time and energy to us, so if ya see one, get outta their way and give them a thumbs up as they go by! THANKS Howie for the email! Ride smart, sober, & safe! CYA ON THE TRAILS! Carol

Cadillac Area Trail Report – 02/02

Wednesday, February 2, 2011
Snow Accumulation: 20 inches

The snow gauge shows a 6 inch snow fall last night but when you see what the high winds can do with that 6 inches you would think we got 2 foot in places. Area schools are closed today and people are encouraged to stay off the roads. The only place to be today in on your snowmobile enjoying this new powder. All our groomers will be running two routes daily in preparation for the North American Snow Festival this weekend in Cadillac. Ride safely.
