The Groomer demonstration show is here in Newberry this Saturday, so if you get a chance, stop by and check out the different groomers that are used to groom trails all over the State. They will be in Zellar Meadows where the snow cross track is.

We are grooming . We got about 7" of snow last night and everything is white out on the trails, it is beautiful out there. Watch for groomers on the trail, as we will be grooming day and night to keep the trails flat. Please watch for updates as the groomers come in I will update with a more accurate trail report

Cadillac Area Trail Report – Cadillac Trails – 03/05

Saturday, March 5, 2011
Snow Accumulation: 9 inches*

We woke up this morning to a beautiful light, fluffy snow covering of 3 to 4 inches and it is still snowing. Temperatures are hovering around 28 degrees. Yesterday was a different story. We were blanketed with a coating of ice on everything. Temperatures when up yesterday afternoon so some of the ice melted and some didn’t before temperatures dropped again. As a result, I would ride cautiously and expect to find ice under the new snow everywhere.

Thursday, March 3, 2011
Snow Accumulation: 5.5 inches*

The groomers are going out on the forest trails today. There has been considerable sled traffic this week and we want to smooth the trails before the warm arrives as predicted for the next couple of days.

Wednesday, March, 2, 2011
Snow Accumulation: 5.5 inches*

The groomers are parked again waiting for more snow. The trails in the forest are still in pretty good shape but you will want to use the staging areas to get to them. It won’t take much more snow to put the groomers back into action as long as temperatures stay down. Sadly, it is March and we can expect just about anything.

For forest access to our trail system, use the following Staging Areas:

Cadillac West Area: 33 Rd, 27 Rd (both off M55 W)

Caberfae Area: 13 Rd (off W M55)

Boon: By Boon Grocery*

Snow gauge located north of the 33 Rd Staging Area.
