Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 02/23

02/23 – Groomer drivers reporting trails in good to excellent shape. Shoulders bare going thru Brimley, sun is shining right now with temp about 33. With bright sun a bare spot may develop if no tree cover, but supposed to snow a little again tonight.

02/22 – An inch+ of snow fell tonight and groomers are out tonight and tomorrow morning. Trails are in great shape and snow is called for every day this week. Get your sled loaded on the trailer and head to the Soo for a great weekend ride. We groom 100+ miles of trail, the Soo to Kinross to Raco and back to the Soo makes a great loop. Stop in at our Radar Run on Sat from 10-3, get a hot dog or cocoa by donation. Runs are $3 a run or 4 for $10. Next to Trail #49 at Six Mile Rd between Mackinac Trail and M-129. – Via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association on Facebook

Trails are in very rideable condition. Trails are frozen flat but a good snow on top in most locations. Conditions still range from fair to good! The farther south the less snow, the farther west and north more snow and better trails.

Our Radar Run is Sat Feb 25th 10-3. The groomed track is in great shape.

Gaylord Area Trail Report – VisitGaylord.com – 02/23

Gaylord Bureau
Trail Report: Feb 23rd, 2012 @ 8:56 am

Trails can be rated ‘Poor ~ Fair’ condition at this time depending on the area. More towards fair where the trail is protected by woods. Where the trail is out in the open they become poor and have some dirt spots. Chance of snow showers in the forecast. Grooming is on hold! As always please check back here for updates.

Trail Report – Wednesday…
by Heart Lake Resort on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 8:14am

I would rate trails in our area to be in poor to fair condition. More towards fair where they run through the woods and are protected but definitely more towards to poor or bare where they are in the open. Trail 7 that parallels Old 27 from the Grayling area to North of Gaylord is showing bare ground in many places, especially along Otsego Lake where it is all dirt. Once you get on trial 4 though and head to the West, you’ll find better conditions but only fair at best. Where trail # 4 parallels Mancelona Road, a lot of bare ground is showing in those open areas. The back country still has snow. The temperature as I write this is 30.9 degrees here at Heart Lake. If you ever need more information or an honest trail report whether you’re staying with us or not, or, even if you need a place to stay, please feel free to call. We are now booking for spring Golf Groups and Summer Family Vacations. Thank You. John @ Heart Lake Resort Cottages – Gaylord. Phone: 989-732-5081
