Cadillac Area Trail Report – Cadillac Trails – 01/01

FROM THE CADILLAC WINTER PROMOTIONS
Friday10 a.m.–January 1, 2010

The weather forecasters are telling us a major lake effect snow storm is expected to to drop between 8 and 12 inches of snow on us by noon Saturday. There is already plenty of snow on the trails in most areas but this fresh snow will be delightful and will clean up the some of the few snirt areas left in the system.

The trails are amazingly smooth and folks are out there enjoying them with their families. Think safety and have fun.

WOLF LAKE MOTEL AND RESORT
January 2

Hi – Everyone, we have been getting fresh snow daily and grooming has been daily and all is right with this New Year. The groomers are scheduled to groom daily through out this holiday weekend and all the guest are very happy with the trails, but all riders are saying that the trails are very busy. LES snow for the next 5 to 7 days, so conditions are going to just get better and better. But again with any forecast, I believe it when I see it. So this will make for some sweet riding this up coming week, with light to no traffic. That is what is nice around here, we are in the middle of 6 different grooming clubs, (which we are members of 4), if one isn’t grooming, one of the other Clubs are grooming. There will be some ice and snirt out on the trail in the curves, so slow down and enjoy yourself. Most county roads are snow covered, so getting fuel or food shouldn’t be a problem. There is tons of snow in the woods, so two tracken and seasonal roads are a blast right now. (Which there are tons of). There is going to be some Ice on the trails and roads, so be careful. THE LAKES ARE NOT SAFE YET.

Rooms and Snowmobile Rentals are available.

Base: 6 inches
Current Trail Conditions: Good to Excellent

We picked up a couple inches of fresh powder yesterday and a couple more the day before that. Just what the doctor order for some outstanding trail conditions. The groomers are out every day keeping things nice and smooth. Temps are very cold and keeping the snow on the lighter, fluffier side. You may see occasional drifting in the open areas of the trails.

It’s a great time to ride. Be safe. Watch for other sleds and groomers. Most importantly, don’t drink and drive. Michigan has already seen a few snowmobile deaths this season. Don’t become another statistic. Also, stay off the lakes! Most are not frozen sufficiently yet.

We are sorry to say that due to a lack of help, our Sunday Morning breakfast buffet will not be held this year. We just don’t have enough people to do all the activities we used to do so we are concentrating on keeping the trails in the best shape possible.
