Hi All, we have had several riders this last weekend and week and are reporting some areas nice and some are thin. 12-13-10 I talked to the grooming Coordinators for Irons and Baldwin and the operators are out grooming 12-13-10 and 12-14-10. Wellston and Benzie/Manistee also have groomed 12-13-10 and 12-14-10. Groomer operators are saying curvy areas do have snirt and straight areas are fairly nice for early season riding, but the ground still isn’t frozen, so conditions can change fast. Forecast is for more snow and cold, with a Clipper system on 12-17-10, so this week and weekend should be nice. (Notice: I said should be.)

Our On site Snowmobile rentals are ready to go for the season on December 1st, weather permitting. Plus we do have gift certificates available for that hard to buy for person. Get them an ATV, Snowmobile Rental or Lake Front room Gift Certificate. They will love it.

We are members of the Cycle Conservation Club of Michigan (Motorcycle and ORV Club), Baldwin Trailriders Snowmobile Club, Irons Area Tourist Association (ATV and Snowmobile Club), Wellston Area Recreation and Tourist Bureau (Snowmobile Club), Benzie-Manistee Snowbirds (Snowmobile Club), Lake County ORV Club and the Michigan Snowmobile Association. These are the local grooming clubs, in which we help support all of your favorite sports. When I go to an area, I always buy the new map for the season from the local snowmobile or ORV club. Trails may change and so do the maps. But I always spend my hard earned money, only with the businesses that support my sport. All those advertisers on the Snowmobile or ORV Club maps are the people, that help make those trails possible for all of us to ride. Just my two cents.

Ishpeming Area Trail Report – Country Village Resort – 12/14

Grooming has begun!

We received a lot of snow over the weekend (16++ inches) and local grooming has begun in the area. It is just beginning so we are waiting for the reports to come in but Iknow Moose Country is grooming all the trails in the Ishpeming area right now.

Snow Cover on Ground in Ishpeming: 14++
Snow Cover in Big Bay, Just to our NORTH: 12++

NEWS: We have a new trail to our east which can serve as an alternative to trail 8. Give it a ride when your in the area, its a nice trail. The Moose Country Snowmobile club now has a groomer parked on site in the Country Village so our spur is always the first to be groomed when they go out/return. So you can literally see the groomer leaving to go groom the trails from our parking lot!

Area Grooming: The Moose Country snowmobile club does a majority of the Ishpeming area grooming. There are also several other clubs that maintain the other areas of the county such as Big Bay, Republic, Negaunee, etc… Trails are groomed on an as needed basis, so during busy times they are normally groomed at least once a day. During slower times, it may be every other day.
