Trails are in fair condition, the county roads are smooth, but the trails are a little rough. The trail along Co. Rd. 407 to Holland Lake staging area doesn’t have much snow on it. There are a lot of sledders north up near Grand Marais over to Pine Stump Junction. It will cool down for the weekend, but now snow in the forcast.

There is logging on Trail #45 North of Skyline Dr. for 4 to 5 miles. There is also logging South of M-123 on Trail #45.

For those of you visiting our website FYI !! UPDATED 12-12-11
Snowmobile Trail # 8 between Marquette and Negaunee will be closed until end of December. Over the summer vandals started a fire on the wooden trestle bridge over the Carp River. The fire did extensive damage to the deck and unfortunately the wooden beams below. The Hiawatha Snowmobile Club has received a Grant from the snowmobile trail program to repair the structure. The deck planking has arrived but the large beams are not slated to be in until the LAST week of December.
