Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/17

It’s just like February, I cant believe the snow we have.

I was out plowing at 5:30 this morning and this is the third day in a row I have had to plow everything. Its now past noon and sleds have been rolling thru Frederic.

There were 2 guys in yesterday that had done the run to the bridge and they said that was decent. Its now past noon and have been trying to get this done.

A few pics from today, look at the drifts on my carport roof and my trailer, the gas station with a bunch of sleds at it , and the best pic of my favorite WWII veteran Woody and his friend Wilma from Waloon Lake.

He stopped in to deliver my tip of the mit maps to me yesterday. He is still going strong at about 92 years and is going in for a hip replacement tomorrow. I told him I woud take him riding after he gets his new hip. Thanks for checking in. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/just-like-february/

Drummond Island Trail Report – 12/16

SNOW GAUGE & GROOMER REPORT – (12/16/16):
The Official Snow Gauge is reading close to 12 inches overall! But remember, the gauge is located close to the Four Corners and our snow depths vary depending on where you are on the Island.

West End: The groomer was out on the west end of the Island yesterday. While there is approximately 12 inches of snow in town he says on the south end of the island there was only about 3 inches. There are large water holes on the west end of the island that have not frozen yet.

East End: The groomer is going out on the east end today but this end normally takes longer to be ride-able as it has more water holes and gets even less snow. Cindy will give us all more details later today after she hears back from Paul.

Remember it takes less than 20 mins for hypothermia to set in once you’re wet so use extreme caution near trail water holes.

* Let it Snow * Let it Snow * Let it Snow * Let it Snow *
