Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/22

She is trying hard, mother nature that is. She is trying hard to end our winter.

Each day the snow has diminished some and its 41 here in Frederic this Sunday morning.

Sleds were out and about yesterday but they were few of them. Trailer counts this morning once again held steady at zero at both Days Inn and Ramada in Grayling.

The big questions is will there be new fresh snow for next weekend? We aren’t quite back to starting over but we aren’t that far off either.

I heard that the State Police were going to be patrolling the railroad on the trains yesterday but they cancelled out with the conditions being what they were. So that means if we get snow Please tell everyone you know to stay away from the tracks. Its as simple as that. Stay away from the tracks and there are no tickets involved. Also heard of a snowmobile death down by Rose City yesterday. Luckily deaths have been slow so far this season. The first picture today is one I took out here on the side just to show you how wet and melting has been. Also it looks like we are only a few days away from my 3 millionth hit……. Thanks for checking in. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/she-is-trying-hard/

Ontonagon Trail Report – Scott’s Superior Inn – 01/21

Talking to riders they said that the trails have held up better than expected, not great, but ridable, rain hurt us the most so look for some bare spots ,little water, and icy corners, calling for warm temps next few days, with temps above freezing at night which means we can’t groom until they drop below freezing, calling for snow all next week, hope they’re right!! Traffic has been light all week, and looks to be light this weekend, perfect time to come up!! Remember if there’s good snow by you there’s a lot more here and fewer riders cause snow everywhere really spreads the traffic out, especially up here. WE still have lots of lodging available , including units that sleep 8 .Stay where the groomer lives!!
