Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 03/14

March 14, 2017

11 degrees BELOW ZERO this morning. I think this is the first time this season I`ve said that!!!! Blue sky and sunny also with a beautiful sunrise.

I gotta mention something thats ticking me off this morning. I haven`t been getting much cooperation from the other groomer drivers lately. All I need is a phone call or text to let me know about the trails you just groomed or for that matter if anyone went out. I try to keep ya`ll up to date on whats going on but I can`t be everywhere all the time….I got a business to run too!! Nuff on that rant…..now on to what I know….

I talked to da boss yesterday afternoon and found out some stuff. The Falls trail was run Sunday night and I think it was run last night too….but then again not positive on last night. It is good to go. The Point trails were run Sunday and they are good. Don`t know nuttin about the Stump trail getting run but I do know it is in good shape.

If you are thinking about coming UP this weekend me thinks it would be a good idea. The weather guessers are saying high temps around freezing and lows in the 20`s with alittle snow here an there. It also looks like it will start to warm up after that. This does look like a good ‘last ride’ weekend, but who knows, this weather has been crazy. All I got fer today. Groomer Chris

This is the Keweenaw Snowmobile Trail System Report for Tuesday, March 14, 2017.

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and trails are in fair to good condition. The groomers are out.

We are unable to groom on Trail #3 between the Portage Lift Bridge and South Range due to extremely low snow cover. Trails south of South Range to Twin Lakes are still being groomed. There are several spots that are bare and have low snow cover so use caution.

There is a beaver dam on South Freda that may let go soon so use caution. The area is flagged.

All of trail #122 is closed for logging.

Remember when you’re out on the trails to watch out for the groomers. They have the right away. Use caution around logging areas.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely. The signs on the trails are there for riders’ safety so please DO NOT remove or destroy them.
