A few tracks on the trail. THINK SNOW we need a little more. (PS it’s snowing)

We have received 6-7 inches of fluffy lake effect snow, this isn’t enough yet to get the groomers out to start on the base, it’s close tho. We do have snow in the forecast everyday next week so maybe by mid week we’ll be running.

It’s pretty quiet here in Frederic this morning at 23 degrees. Sled traffic was pretty much non existent yesterday but there were a few out and about.

Its supposed to stay cool all week with more snow so that is a good thing. I noticed this morning that the lake is already skimmed over with ice but there was a hole out in the middle I could see a bunch of birds sitting in.

I think this is early for the ice but that’s good cause it means it has stayed cold. Thanks for checking in. Pete

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Light snow will spread across parts of the area today, most widespread across eastern upper Michigan. Lake effect snows develop tonight, again most persistent in the snow belts north of the Mighty Mac. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> We lost alot yesterday, made it to about 40 degrees, lots of slush and very dissapointing considering how good it was. Winds are stiff and when this slush hardens up from the cold its gonna make it really rough. So here I sit in Sledheads and it will be a great day for pushing slush and watching t.v. Stop by and say hi if you are in the area. I do still have my rental cottage avaiilable if you want to come and just camp out there for the winter. I wish I had a better report.
