The calm before the storm. Its very calm and quiet out there. All trails and crossings that I looked at on the way to Frederic this morning surprised me that they are still all nice and white. Riders that were in all day yesterday still reported great trails even though it was getting squishy at the 38 degrees that it stayed at most of the day. It cooled down and firmed up during the night again and from the trailer counts this morning people are still thinking positive as there were 5 at the Days Inn and 32 at the Ramada. Tommorows forcast is interesting to say the least, don’t know if it will be rain, snow or sleet but I can tell you tomorrow. Just had the first person in here this morning and he said he rode to the bridge and back yesterday on perfect trails…….Of course now its Saturday and with any amount of traffic it doesn’t take long for perfect trails to be not so perfect. All of our trail system was groomed yesterday and overnight thanks to a crew of 6 all volunteer operators. They ran from 4am Friday to 730am Saturday. We focused on cutting corner moguls and flattening trails before the next 12"-18" falls through Monday. Trails haven’t been this good in a long time.
