Frederic – Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/26

FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 02/26

Sunny 25 degrees sunday at noon in Frederic. Sleds have been out and about all morning and trails looking pretty decent.

I went out for a 20 mile ride last night and have to say I was surprised how much snow was out there. Many two tracks we were on had to have almost a foot on them. Sled traffic was heaviest of the season on saturday and everyone having a good time.

Now the next question is will this hold and will we get more snow this week.

Also I still have 3 different bags here that have been lost off of sleds. If you are missing a bag off your sled give me a call. Have on arctic cat bag and one polaris hard bag and another generic blue bag. Another good nite for prime rib at the Frederic Inn too. Had to wear my snowmobile man bib to keep my shirt clean. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/26

February 26, 2023

23 degrees this morning and snowing pretty hard. I`ve picked up a solid 2 " of lake effect fluff on my deck just from this morning. I see the weather guessers are calling for another storm to come thru late Monday. "They" are saying anywhere from 4-9". That would be cool!!! We have been runnin the groomers almost around the clock since last Friday. The traffic has been really heavy this weekend so here`s the report…..

Groomer Keith hit the Pine Stump trail #8 last night and called it good.

Groomer Mike H. did the Point trails #452 & #453 and called them really good, even the rough section on the northern side from the lack of snow turned out good.

Groomer Kevin hit the Falls trail #45 and called that good to go.
I ran the South trail #8 and will call that good except for the swamp south of town which was REALLY rough in spots. It is froze solid but the problem is so are the dirt bumps and ice and we can`t do a thing with it.

We are runnin all trails again today and will continue to run as long as we get snow. It looks like March is gonna be the month to ride this year so don`t put away the sleds!

RIDE RIGHT……..RIDE SAFE

LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Groomer Chris

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Another quickly-moving Clipper will bring a round of widespread, light snow beginning this evening, followed by lingering lake effect snow across the NW wind snow belts for Tuesday. Totals of an inch or less are expected for most of the UP, but where lake effect snow occurs, up to 2-5in of snow is possible tonight through Tuesday evening.
