KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trails Reports – 2/12

Mother Nature really isn’t playing nice! 🤬

With the weather conditions we have been experiencing this winter, putting some time into planning your trip and ride can help make a huge difference!

Jack McGowan started inquiring about specific trail conditions on Thursday to plan for a ride north into the Keweenaw on Saturday. Jack is staying at Parkview – New Lodge and Grill and rode down by Rockland on Friday.

Saturday, Jack took to the trails early and headed north on Trail 3 from Parkview. Jack said, “ trails 3/17 were rough on the way up as usual. Trail 124 was incredible! We were making first tracks all the way into Gay. Trail 133 and 134 were awesome too. Going through Hancock/Houghton on the way back was not good. The hill by M&M Power Sports had little snow left. Same for driving through town in Copper Harbor, we avoided it. Trail 124, 130, 133, and 134 all held up great!”

“We stopped at the Gay Bar for gas, then up to The Mariner North for a great lunch. Gas in Calumet and then back to the Parkview for dinner and stay.”

Thanks for sharing Jack! So glad you were able to enjoy your day(s) riding!

Please note that tge Keweenaw Snowmobile Club had to pause grooming operations last night. Unfortunately we have a few more warm days in the forecast BUT snow ❄️ and cold 🥶 return on Thursday! 🤞
