Newberry Trail Report – 02/06
NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA – 02/06 February 6, 2023 11:00 am The trails are very good in the majority of the area. We groomed North to holland lake and South to Cut River and trout lake last night. We now have two groomers that are working and one that is still broke down(scheduled to be repaired today), so we will continue to do what we can. Tonight we are planning to groom trail 45 and south to trout lake. There is still some logging going on it also there are some water holes still open in a few spots so please ride with caution and care! The details are below for specific trail grooming. We have had a couple inches of snow over the weekend and moderate amount of traffic so the trails are holding up very well. <> In other news we are raffling off a a 2023 Polaris Sportsman 450 Donated by Renze Power Sports. <> Trail 9: We groomed north to holland lake. Conditions are being reported as Very Good! Logging operations are finished and county roads 415 and 422 are now being groomed. Trail 498: Groomed yesterday. Very Good. Trail 45: not Groomed last night. Very good The gate is open to the Falls. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and could be bumpy or rutted. Very Good in spots Trial 9/2: Groomed to Cut River and trout lake. Conditions being reported as very good. Yep stay home it’s shit GRAND MARAIS AREA UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. --> Due to the warm temps we will not be grooming tonight. Looks like we can resume on Thursday night into the weekend. We will be limited to two routes per night because we are down to one machine. Should be a great weekend to ride the 8’s. Sorry I’m not sold, they aren’t running most of the groomers. We we’re up there Sunday to show my wife( her first time up there ever ) how great is was and not one groomer track to be found from pine sump to paradise. The bar tender at the Hoat locker said they haven’t run the groomer around there area for 2 weeks. But people keep riding in the area so there not going to do it. Absolute crap that we spend money to come up, pay $40 for a $20 dollar meal, $5.75 for a gallon of gas and the trails are garbage.
