We received 8-10 inches of snow yesterday. The trails are good in the majority of the area. We We plan on grooming north to pine stump/holland lake, south to cut river and 45 to the falls tonight. We had some mechanical issues last night so 9 north and 498 were not groomed last night but were done Wednesday night. Every trail has some logging on it so please ride with caution and care! The details are below for specific trail grooming. Curfew in the Village of Newberry is 11:00pm to 7:00am.
Trail 9: We groomed all the way past pine stump to holland lake Wednesday night and will do so again tonight. Logging on County Rd 415 toward McMillan. Good to fair in spots! Grooming operations are finishing up but the county roads 415 and 422 are still being plowed to finish hauling everything out, so be careful roads are icy.
Trail 498: Groomed Wednesday and will do so again today. Good.
Trail 45: The gate is open to the Falls. We groomed out to county road 500 last night and plan to go all the way to the falls tonight. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and could be bumpy or rutted. Good to Fair in spots!!
Trial 9/2: We groomed down to Borgstrom rd last night and plan to groom to cut river tonight . Good.
Thank you to all the team at the groomers barn who puts in countless hours to keep the system groomed and maintenance on the machines!
Your grooming team from the TASA Barn!!

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Lake effect flurries and snow showers are possible today, March 1st, 2026 across some of northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. With dry air mixing in, totals will be relatively kept in check, but a swath of 1-3", perhaps 4" is possible along M-28 south of Grand Marais. Changing wind fields will also allow for light/brief accumulations along some of our lakeshore regions in the Lower Peninsula, but it's not guaranteed for everyone. Timing is through the remainder of the day. Mild temperatures coming later this week, which should help begin the melting process for many. #miweather #keweenaw#munising #newberry #sooLake effect flurries and snow showers are possible today, March 1st, 2026 across some of northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
