WEATHER SLOWLY COMING AROUND!
Again no significant changes from yesterday. Warm rainy weather still has grooming operations on hold with trails in an overall Fair condition. The main trails have fair snow cover but are choppy, soft and sugary. We do have some hope in the forecast with heavy snow Thursday. If we are lucky this will help us clean things up by the weekend. For now we are watching temperatures closely and letting the trails dry out before grooming will resume. For those die hard riders expect thin areas with dirty snow, gravely in areas with some icy inside corners and wet areas. Road crossings and entering towns will have dirty snow and bare pavement. Keep a close eye on conditions as you ride and stay right. We have hazardous water holes on Trail 418 so ride and cross with extreme caution (Map in images showing locations). Stay tuned for updates!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 01/15
It was a very busy Saturday with plenty of traffic around for the long weekend and the trail took a beating. Even after leaving two hours later than usual we ran into a lot of traffic still out enjoying the day.
We expect the west bound side of the trail to get bumpy fairly quickly as just about everyone we passed was happy to be able to get off the beat up side of trail and onto something flat, can’t blame them for that today but without any set up time and about 30 to 40 riders passing us it was already getting bumpy by our return trip. The rest of the trail.and the eastern end are in great shape for Sunday.
Winds will gust 30-40mph at times blowing around new slow and fluffy snow already on the ground. Expect ground blizzards at times (wind driven, brief, white outs). ... See MoreSee Less
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Another quickly-moving Clipper will bring a round of widespread, light snow beginning this evening, followed by lingering lake effect snow across the NW wind snow belts for Tuesday. Totals of an inch or less are expected for most of the UP, but where lake effect snow occurs, up to 2-5in of snow is possible tonight through Tuesday evening. As winds pick up early Tuesday, patchy blowing snow may contribute to reduced visibility in the NW wind snow belts.
