Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – 01/15
Groomer Report: We are alternating days grooming our trails with one of our groomers out of service for a few weeks at least. We will groom west from Trout Creek one day and the next day we will go east. There is log hauling just north of Sidnaw for a few miles, it is signed. Trails 8/15 and the south end of trail 174. Be cautious of logging trucks and equipment in the area. The logging on the north end of trail 174 has started, use CAUTION in this area! You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
