Newberry Trail Report – 01/01
January 1, 2023 6:30 pm Happy New Year! We were able to get out this afternoon and tonight to try and clean up the trails the best we can. The temperatures are still moderately warm, but the nights are fairly cold. The gate at County Rd 500 over to the Falls is still closed. There are a fair amount of water spots that have opened up. We will need freezing temperatures and more snow to make an impact. The details are below for specific trail grooming. We wish we had some better news, but we are doing the best we can with what we have to work with. In other news we are raffling off a a 2023 Polaris Sportsman 450 Donated by Renze Power Sports. Tickets: $100.00 each Tickets can be purchased from: Newberry Power Sports, Halfway Lake Cottages, North Store Follow Me Outfitters, Pine Stump Restaurant, Schubach Farms Cabin Rentals, or Proceeds will go to fund trail grooming equipment! Good Luck! Trail 45: The gate to the Falls is still closed. We will be heading out on this trail tonight and try to clean it up. The trail is fair at best. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and is down to mud currently. Trial 9/2: Fair is a stretch. Over to Trout Lake from Rexton is poor. Thank you to all the team at the groomers barn who puts in countless hours to keep the system groomed and maintenance on the machines! Minus 5 degrees this morning under a cloudy sky. No new snow in the last 24 hrs. but we do have about 3 feet of snow on the ground so no worries...LOL. Here`s whats been happening since my last report a couple days ago......
No bad news...the machines have been running beautifully....Mother Nature has been cooperating perfectly....and our trails are EXCELLENT!!!!
The Falls trail #45, the Point trails #452 & #453 and the South trail #8 all fall into that catagory. The only blip on the radar is on the Pine Stump trails #8 & #9 but it is only minor. Our section of trail #9 is still being plowed down from the Stump to the East branch of the Two Heart by the loggers. It is no big deal, just take trail #8 around instead of #9, just like the old days. Its a touch longer but you`re out there to enjoy the ride.....right? On the bright side, they are done up by Crisp Point but it will take us a couple trips to get that back in great shape.

9 degrees this morning and snowing. I picked up 5-6" of fresh snow on my deck from last night and it looks like its supposed to snow for the next couple of days too!!!
Our entire system was groomed yesterday and there`s only one way to describe it......EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, those of you who follow me know I don`t use that word very often, but I ain`t kiddin, it doesn`t get any better than this. The swamp south of town, the Falls trail, ALL of our low land trails are better than I`ve seen in a long time!!!!!
If you don`t have plans on gettin U.P. here.....make `em. It won`t last forever.
