Mother Nature unleashed her fury and we picked up over 30" of snow over the Christmas weekend. Tonight an additional snow fall of 6-9 inches of snow is expected, before a moderate warmup is anticipated toward the end of the week along with the potential of a little rain. As we kick off the 2022/2023 snowmobile season there is a few things you should know. The details are below for specific trail grooming. Two machines up and running at this time and one being worked on and hope to have it up and running soon.

Trail 9: Groomed the trail yesterday and will do so again today out to Holland Lake.
Trail 45: Groomed out to County Road 500 yesterday, but did not open the gate across the marsh to the Falls yet. Today we will send just the tractor out to the 500 and work the snow in/pack and hopefully be able to open the gate. We have to be able to see just how soft is is underneath before we open the gate, but we currently believe there is plenty of snow to be able a build up a pretty strong base to do so. Fingers crossed! There will be logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There will also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Equipment has been staged in both areas for the logging to start. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions will be plowed.
Trial 9/2: Groomed around town last night, down to Rexton and over to H40. Once a machine returns our plan is to groom down to Epouffette later tonight.
Thank you to all the team at the groomers barn who puts in countless hours to keep the system groomed and maintenance on the machines!

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 12/22/25 12 degrees this morning under a mostly clear sky. Here`s the trail report on how things went yesterday..... We took 2 machines w/o drags and headed out on the Falls trail #45. Unfortunately I can`t give you any good news. It was U.G.L.Y. In fact, da boss said it was the worst he`s ever seen....bummer. He did say you could make it from the Upper Falls to the Lower to get fuel at the Lower but be careful. From the Lower Falls to Paradise IS NOT PASSABLE!!! There is a video on our FB page to show you how bad it was. We need more snow and cold to even try this again in a groomer. Word of warning.....it is ILLEGAL to ride on M-123 from town to the Falls! Nothing else was run, we need more snow. The Point trails are ridable and the Pine Stump trail is also but thin in a lot of spots. We haven`t ran south on trail #8 since last weekend either. Simply put, we need more snow. This weeks forecast doesn`t look that promising for any great amounts either. Sorry for all the bad news......just being honest. I`ll let ya`ll know when things start improving. LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Groomer Chris #paradise #newberry ... See MoreSee Less

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Town Hall Snowmobile Club Paradise MI >> Paradise to Seney today was excellent- We took “alternate” routes and boondocks to and from Pine Stump but I’m sure the paradise trails were fair despite the fact they are not being maintained at the present time. Massive drifts coming back and white out conditions made for a blast. Chics Hot Dog Stand 8 and 452 Paradiseprovided the Hot chocolate on the way out. Ended the evening at Wheelhouse Diner & Goat Locker Saloon back in Paradise. TASA, Grand Marias, and Seney operations have their trails dialed in beautifully- Andy’s Bar in Seney has the burger!! All areas received several inches of fresh snow today and it’s still coming down hard at 11pm. #paradise #newberry #snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
Thanks for the report! What’s going on up in paradise? We are planning our first UP trip next Friday staying there. Are their trails rideable or should we go elsewhere? Thx.

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Here is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025. Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise. Not too impactful of a system in terms of Michigander standards, but do take it slow if you encounter any snow squalls and/or visibly slick roads. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#gaylord #cadillac #benzie#traversecity#petoskeyHere is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025.
