IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 12/27 Groomers have been out all day and now night. Trail 8, trail 2 Hurley to Marenisco, trail 11 connector, and 11S have been groomed or rolled. Its very slow going! Epic snow reported on 11S. Thank you GRTA volunteers!! You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
