SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 12/19
Groomer Jay is headed out in the SxS to meet groomer Bill to clear a large downed tree on trail 889. He opened the gates on trail 8 between the Soo and Brimley along the way. We are not grooming just yet as we still need more snow but we encourage sleds to ride as it helps pack it down. Please be mindful that it is still very early season and there is little base and potential hidden hazards under the snow. Ride safe and please report to us if you see any hazards.
Also a word of caution at trail 8 and Irish Line Road as you head west from Brimley toward Raco- there is a new culvert that will not be an issue once covered in deeper snow but for now, it sticks out a bit. Use caution when riding through there please! Gates are not open on 49 south of 12 mile or 472 to 480 through the Spile Dam due to extreme wet conditions and lack of snow. As soon as we get word that it is safe to open them, we will share. Ride safe, think snow! See you soon!❄️❄️❄️
