KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 3/10

WOW! March riding is definitely some of the best riding!
Sean Diederich took full advantage of the beautiful bluebird sky day we had here on Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula! Sean put on 175 miles today!

Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos with us Sean! Sean said, “ I love riding in March. No traffic and awesome conditions! Went from Toivola on 3 to 122 to Gay, 133 to Lac la Belle, 132 back to 3 and down to Twin Lakes and back to Toivola. 175 miles today! I don’t think I hit a bump all day!”

Riding 175 miles without a single bump! That’s a great day! Huge thanks to all of the amazing groomer operators!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Krupps Resort >> So we got an 1” of snow with more snow coming starting Tuesday till Thursday! Night time temps are still staying below freezing and days looks like it 30s ❄️ The parking lots/plowed areas around here are melting down so where ever you can find snow feel free to park your sled! Here is a update from Tim & Robin who has been here for the last few days (come up throughout the winter) ❄️ North of Houghton yesterday the trails were groomed and in good shape. Thursday we rode north it was beautiful, South of Sidnaw they do get a little more rough. Iron River is where the line is drawn really bad. They are rideable but if they haven’t groomed they’re will be mogal. Some water holes and open dirt on most trails also. But you can hit a really good 10 to 20 miles without dirt or water. ❄️ Thank you for the update!! Spots still open as are trails! 🇺🇸⛄️❄️ www.kruppsresortmi.com #keweenawSo we got an 1” of snow with more snow coming starting Tuesday till Thursday! WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A pair of systems will bring a wintry mix of precipitation to the U.P. today into tonight. A clipper will spread a mix of rain, snow, and freezing rain across the area this morning, changing to all rain from west to east as temperatures climb above freezing in the afternoon, reaching as high as the mid 50s in the west. A cold front then drops across the U.P. and brings another round of mixed precip tonight, changing to all snow towards Sunday morning. Generally expect minimal snow amounts across most of the U.P., but some spots in the Keweenaw and the east could pick up 1-3” through Sunday morning. A glaze of ice will also be possible in a few spots this morning and again tonight. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaA pair of systems will bring a wintry mix of precipitation to the U.P. today into tonight.
