TRAIL REPORT February 22, 2022 TOOK A BEATING BUT RECOVERING! Trails are in an overall good condition with this past high traffic extended weekend hitting them hard. Operators have had their work cut out for them cutting some rather large moguls in areas. Trail 418 and Trail 417 are next in line to get cleaned up. We did get the Bully back up and running for last night and put it to much needed work on Trail 422. Operators are doing what they can with the tools at hand as we anxiously await the return of our Big John Deere. Get out and enjoy the trails and Stay Tuned for updates! This week now as you may already know, we could see a lot more snow, up to 18" on the trail. We will groom when it is safe to get out. So if you go out and its a bit rough, we are keeping our operators safe, and one of us will be out when it is safe again. There may be drifting on the trail with this next storm, so keep that in mind if you go out on the trail. Here are a couple of pics from last night’s groom. Light snow will accompany the front but generally less than an inch is expected. Behind the front temperatures will fall into the single digits above and below zero. This combined with gusty winds will bring wind chills down into the teens and twenties below zero. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for Gogebic and Iron counties tonight through Saturday morning. Lake effect snow will develop behind the front in the northwest wind snowbelts with several inches expected.
