Grand Marais Trail Report – 02/16

GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 2/16

From Phil on the West run this morning-Out on trail 89 this morning. Getting it done

GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 2/15

From Phil on the West trail overnight-Monday February 14th trail report for what the groomer drivers call the ‘west run’. Trails 8, 89 and 88 "the grade" towards M77.

All trails have a soft base, with plenty of new fresh fluff 4+ inches. It snowed the whole Monday run.

Nothing, terrible to mention….. With plenty of new snow everything groomed out as expected.

Great February trail conditions.

I moved out of the area so, I’ve been absent from grooming with the GM Sno-trails club, I’ll be around as a fill in driver as needed… Phil

Ill keep you posted.
9:10PM
Man, kinda scared to say this out loud but Tucker, Drag, Snow and I are, like one with one another tonight, we can't not leave a ribbin! (So far)
Anyway, 10.5 to Second stop sign, not workin it as hard as Saturday night, not having to dig as deep to shave it under all the damage and leave it flat, warmer snow is flowing very well.
No pics yet, your just going to have to trust me, that's all, keep you posted.
11:19pm
In and outta Windy Corners, almost perfect, last pic right now is where I
nose dived it ( ya I told ya, gotta be honest with all of it right? ) coming in across the drifted plains section after the woods, incidentally where I decided no more blade in the drifted plains sections, some situations require pulling things through rather than pushing them here, as well in life I'm finding.
Anyway, we're pointed north, its 11:26:on a week night, dead zone with these things for a bit, I'll be back sooner or later, not cold a bit and the cruise is working perfectly, I'm going to use it awhile now 😁 #newberry #snowphotos

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> Second stop sign, had to stop back at the shop and tinker the drag lights, and controls to work, so milage won't be correct.
WOW last time I've seen jumps this large was large was on the X Games
from Colorado a week or so back!!
Was pondering how many sleds it takes to destroy this trail like this basically in a day... how many may have cut through for the race, how many beds are filled in Newberry, Lots of time to ponder such things out here.
We need a counter devise of some sort for weekends anyway... if you see a black tube stretched across the trail one of these day soon, think nothing of it 😉
Lots if work ahead, I'll keep you posted.
No pics yet, that IS THE second Stop sighn! 🤣
8AM On the Money!
Just turning south at the Pine Stump intersection, did you see that moon last night!"🌗
If you rode 9 yesterday you know it needed help desperately, corners North of Windy Corners were pretty out of control, spent ALOT of time on almost all the problem child's 😉
Back to Lots of room when I make this final lap.
Must've been very busy yesterday, Windy Corners has been worse, just looked like heavy through traffic.
Gettin her back to where we want it.
I'll check back after while.
Oh ya. Casey Kasim American Top 40 February 7th 1981, started at 7 😎 #newberry #snowphotos
